Terms
Terms of Use
The agreement between you and Haven, kept as short and plain as we can make it.
Last updated October 5, 2026
These terms apply to the Haven app and christianhaven.app (together, “Haven”), operated by Woo Jin Kang (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using Haven, you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Haven.
Your account
- You need an account to use the app. You must be at least 13 years old to create one.
- Give accurate details, keep your password to yourself, and tell us if you think someone else has used your account.
- You’re responsible for what happens under your account.
Subscriptions
Some features, including your daily Journey, narrated stories and the chat guides, need a Haven subscription. The full Bible, Verses for Today and reading Bible stories are free.
- Subscriptions are sold through Apple’s App Store and charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase.
- A subscription renews automatically at the price and for the period shown when you buy, unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple Account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
- Manage or cancel your subscription in your iPhone’s Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep access until the end of the period you’ve paid for.
- If a free trial is offered, any unused part of it ends when you buy a subscription.
- Deleting your Haven account doesn’t cancel your subscription. Cancel it with Apple first.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies. You can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
- If we change the price, Apple will tell you in advance and, where required, ask you to agree.
Using Haven well
Please don’t:
- break the law, or use Haven to harass or harm anyone;
- try to get around subscription checks, usage limits or security, or reach parts of Haven not meant for you;
- copy, scrape or resell Haven’s content, or use it to build a competing product or train AI models;
- overload Haven, or use automated tools to access it.
We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules.
Content
The Bible text in Haven is the Berean Standard Bible and the World English Bible, both in the public domain. Story retellings, devotionals, illustrations, narration and the design of Haven belong to us or our licensors. We grant you a personal, non-transferable licence to use them in Haven for your own, non-commercial use.
Story retellings and devotionals are written to help you understand Scripture; they don’t replace it. Each one links to the passage it retells, and you can always read the text for yourself.
Chat guides
The chat guides use artificial intelligence to answer questions about the Bible, its history and prayer. Answers can be incomplete or wrong, and they aren’t a substitute for Scripture, your church, or professional advice. Don’t rely on them for medical, legal, financial or mental-health decisions. If you’re in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, contact your local emergency services or, in the US, call or text 988. Chat has fair-use limits, which the app shows when you get close to them.
Changes and availability
We’re always improving Haven, so features may change, and occasionally Haven may be unavailable. If we make a significant change to these terms, we’ll tell you in the app before it takes effect. If you keep using Haven after that, you accept the new terms.
Ending
You can stop using Haven and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms.
Disclaimers and liability
Haven is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties beyond those in these terms and aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for any amount more than you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that can’t be excluded.
Apple
These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple isn’t responsible for Haven or its content, has no obligation to provide support for it, and isn’t responsible for any claims relating to it. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. Your use of the app must also follow Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement and the App Store’s usage rules. If the app fails to meet a warranty that applies by law, you may notify Apple, which may refund the purchase price; Apple has no other warranty obligation.
